Re: AdhesionsFrom: nsmitch (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Oct 31 22:27:10 2000
Dear sleepless, I have found that the harmonic scalpel was able to remove "everything you were not born with" during my last lap. I hope to do the same this week's lap. If you haven't gone this route try it and let me know what you find. You might want to check out these sites as listed on this search http://www.google.com/search?q=Harmonic+Scalpel&btnG=Google+Search Sorry to hear you are in so much pain but am happy to have met you. Strange for me to say that but it seems maybe you have had the endo as long as I have which is a comfort for me. Thank you. Best Wishes, Sally
>----- Original Message ----- Hi all, some of your names I recognize from the other message boards or via e-mail. But I have not listed on this board in a long time. The after-effects of endo are getting the best of me lately and i need to ask some advice. I had TAH/BSO in 6/99, at that time received dx of severe endo. Symptoms returned 4 months after total hyst, then had surgery with Dr. Redwine in 2/2000. I feel better than I have in 26 years! But . . . there's always a but . . . i appear to be having a "scar tissue issue" that has come back to haunt me. Have any of you had scar tissue problems. Mine is in my hip/back/left leg. Sciatic pain is prevelent as well as back & hip pain & stiffness. Stretching does help temporarily. I am considering another surgery for the adhesion, but just wondered what everyone/anyone else is doing for scar tissue. My endo was severe and had infiltrated several organs. I guess I am just looking for some support and/or similar experiences. Thanks for letting me vent, I hate to come back to this board with a head of steam, but this bad dream doesn't stop for me. I am grateful though that I see so many women getting earlier diagnosis and proper treatment for endo so that there is hope out there. Once again, I do feel so much better after my lap with Dr. R, it's just one area that is giving me grief. I am such an adhesion person with dense adhesions being found in both my surgeries. any and all advice/support would help so much. sleepless in seattle, suzanne
