Hi J,

I am also worse after Surgery,my pain is increased 10 fold.I am told that some of us have this happen to us and its because all the nerve endings are firing off and they become over excited after surgery and thus sending us into an extreme state of pain and I have discussed this with a well known Endo specialist and he suggests that next time I am to have a lap ... I am to have an epidural and then this way this prevents it from happening because they put the epidural in before you have the surgery.The only problem with this type of treatment is that if they nick your bowel, it can take longer for any symptoms to show... especially the symptom of pain because you are totally numb.I have discussed it with another surgeon and he believes if adequate pain relief is given... then we should be fine..I don't think it happens to that many sufferers and these doctors just don't understand but for the few of us who it does effect so badly it is excruciating and it just has to be recognized as a condition... that a few of us encounter and if we are given adequate pain relief then hopefully we should be fine.I am lucky in one way and that is because I am under the care of a pain specialist and he has helped me incredibly.
