ConfusedFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Oct 18 14:47:24 2000
Hi, I am 16 years old and I recently went to a doctor for side pains. My first doctor told me that it was probably my appendix. I was going back to see if these pills he had given me were doing me well. They weren't. My doctor was filled with appointments that day, so I got another one in the same building. I told him my problems. He then went on to ask me about my cycle and if I was sexually active and so forth. I havent been to the gynecologist yet. I gave a blood sample and urine sample and he examined me. He asked my mom to leave also. He said that I had one of two things. Endometriosis or Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. He explained that you don't get the PID unless you are sexually active or have ever been. Which is why I am confused. I haven't ever had sex. So, why is he making this an option? It has something to do with STD's also. I completly rule this out because I havent had sex. I have no idea what either Endo or PID is caused by or what it is or what can be done. The doctor must really think that I have the PID because I got a shot and am on antibiotics..Maybe I just had it? I saw this site and noticed that some of you wrote about PID and Endo....Can you help me? Thanks
