Thanks for your story. My doc says shes going to wait 4 weeks and then start
the hormone replacements. What are these like? am i going to have major mood
swings for the month im not on hormones? And I need to ask kind of a
personal question, what happens to your sex drive?....Thanks, Amy

menopause.I was in the hospital for 4 days,My sister in law had her
hysterecomy the same day as me, We were in the same room per our

was actually getting around better than I was after a couple of
days,Unfortunatly as I found out 1 week after being discharged I had
developed an infection so that would account to why she was doing better
than me.I was readmitted and had to have the infection surgically
drained.Ithen developed adhesions from the infection and had
laporoscopies 10/98 and 4/99 to have these cut away,I had anopther
laporoscopy 11/99 to have the right ovary removed and this is when I was
diagnosed with endometriosis!
Now my Dr. is not sure if I have an ovarian remnant that is producing
enough estrogen to allow the endometriosis to stay alive, I have tried
the Lupron for 4 months and it did not help the pain at all, I am just
starting a new treatment involving an aromatase inhibitor which blocks
all estrogen not only the estrogen that is produced by the ovaries or
ocvarian remnant, I am just about 1 week into the treatment so I don't
know how or if it is going to help me, My Dr. says I should know within
3 months,Other than the infection ,although this surgery in its self is
major as long as you don't over do it and take it easy recovery
shouldn't be too bad, Is your Dr. going to put you on HRT right away
?most Drs. withhold giving it to patients with endo for 3 months as to
allow any endo that may have been left behind to die off, This may be
something you want to question your Dr. about, I wish you the best of
