I was diagnosed with Endo in 1981. I did a lot of research before finally letting my doctor take a closer look. I had the laparotomy (same day surgery) only to explore the extent of my problem. At the time I was only 21. I was faced with a hysterectomy. The doctor cleaned up as much as possible and then I went through 9 months of Danocrine therapy. It shut my reproductive system down. A few irritating side effects were nothing compared to the pain of Endo. Unfortunately, the best thing to treat Endo is getting pregnant. Which becomes a vicious circle because you can't get pregnant for the Endo. My problems came about before all the latest research and new treatments. But mine worked. I am proud to say I stuck to my guns and did not have the hysterectomy. Took some advice from General Practioner who said NO Tampons, white cotton underwear, white unscented toilet paper and if you can afford them only natural fiber sanitary napkins. It may sound goofy but something worked. In three week I will be having a 1st birthday party for my daughter. It took a long time for this little miracle but she is healthly and very happy. I wish you pain free days and remission of this debilating disease.
