Re: What Do Medical Tests Show

The laproscopy I had scheduled for end of August turned into a laparotomy because they were unable to see much otherwise. My doctors had fully expected, I think, to find NOTHING, and it was only when they saw the full extent of all the adhesions that they went on to the bigger incision. My surgeon was able to see colon, bowel (hence the diagnosis of divurticular disease) and that my one ovary was completely obstructed by adhesions. So I'm pretty sure with a laparotomy that they can see fairly well. They were able to remove a small portion of it (for the lab) but the incision was not big enough to take much else out.

Hope this helps.
