Daughter with endo (long note)From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun Jul 30 00:52:27 2000
My daughter has endo. She had a laproscopy about 1.5 years ago which showed a huge endometrioma on her left ovary. On the video the doc showed to us later, it was larger than her uterus. The right ovary was not involved. She had been on fertility drugs prior to her lap for about a year and had undergone two AI which resulted in pregnancy both times. She consequently miscarried within 1-2 weeks of positive pregnancy tests. She had the lap done about 10 months after the last miscarriage. She has recently changed jobs and has new insurance which will not cover pre-existing for about 1 year. Her doctor examined her two weeks ago and told her she needed to have another laproscopy done. Her u/s demonstrated another large cystic left ovary (ovary completed imbedded within the cystic area) and three large cysts on her right ovary. He also told her that her uterus "did not look healthy either". She is financially strapped and without insurance, unable to really afford to have surgery now. Will she hurt her chances of every having children by putting this off until insurance can pay for fees? She is 24 years old, and frazzled at what to do. Are their any new treatments out there that could help her? Also, is there any connection with endo and ovarian cancer? Any info would be very much appreciated....
