I don't think the rectal exam is necessarily so weird -- I've had a couple & I'm 23. I think the weird part is your doc not listening to your symptoms. Did endo show up with your lap? If so (and even if it didn't) pain is NOT something that should be pooh-poohed. :)

If you are uncomfortable with your doctor, for any reason, by all means -- get a new one. Pain is real, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Please keep me updated on how you're doing & feeling.

Hi... I'm new to this forum, and I have a situation that I'd like some advice on...

I had the laprascopic surgery thing a year and a half ago, and started having pain again about a month ago. Unfortunately, during that year and a half interlude, I moved, and have switched doctors. When I went to the doctor today, (the second time I've seen this one), he gave me a rectal exam as well as the "normal" exam. Since I'm only 26, this was a new, and extremely discomforting experience for me. Is this normal? He also "pooh-pooh"ed my symptoms, and told me to try more lubrication. Am I wrong in thinking that I need a new doctor? (I don't mean to sound naive, but I'm very weirded out about this.)
