I would definitly get a second opinion. I had a similar problem but with more spotting. I would get 3 periods instead of just one even with the birth control pills. Last summer I stopped the pills for 2 months, and the cramping was so bad I thought I was going to die. I didn't think much of it then, but when I told my gyn, he said there is something worng. Why in the world are the insurance companies not covering you? I thought that was against the law? I would check into that too. Sorry couldn't help you much, but I hope you would feel better soon.
