Re: HI.From: Alexander (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Feb 22 16:08:46 2000
hi culleen, I have been on Depo shots since mar of 98. The first 6m on them I had a lot of pain and breakthru bleeding. Called my doctor and he suggested to get the Depo shot every month for a 6mo period. Then at that time we revaluated and of course my pain has been worse the last 2mo on it. My symptoms on Depo are weight gain, moodiness, lack of sex drive etc. The biggest is the weight gain. The reason I went to Depo on monthly basis was to stop my break thru bleeding. My option now is to take advil for one week to see if it helps my pain. Other wise we will increase probably to Darvocet and if that doesn't work then off to surgery. My doctor has been very helpful in my diagnosis. I have two kids that he has delivered after he said that I may not be able to have any!!!(HA<HA). Any way I still want to have maybe one more so I guess dealing with the pain is better than anything. I sorry to hear your doctor is not giving you what you deserve. If there is anything I can do please let me know as I too, went thru 4 doctors till I found this one in 1993. Where are you living anyway?? Has your doctor ever talked about Depo every mo?? Maybe you should get a second opinion?? Let me know, I hope this has helped you somewhat in your struggle with doctors, pain, etc. You can e-mail me privately if you want anytime. Amy
