Well, I don't know either of you as I am new here and haven't been dignosed with endo pending surgery. Anyway, I have PCOS and was put on Desogen bcps for it. They seem to really help me. I have been on them since November. At first it made me have diarhea. And I did vomit once with them. I also had trouble wearing my contacts for the first 2 months. The dr told me I should be on them at least 3 to make any judgements. I have had regualr periods, my moods are much better throughout the month, even during my PMS time (which used to be horrible). My family wonders why such a little thing could make me so much nicer. (when your hormones are out of wack then they need to be fixed, in my case my testosterone was high and it has reduced it dramatically, which means I don't get as much hair problems from the PCOS and I have gone from 244 to 238, even over the holidays, which is amazing since I usually gain weight). I used to be on Loestrin Fe 1/20 and I did not do well on those at all. I gained 10 lbs a week, I had rapid heart beat, and I bleed for 8 days (extremely heavy all of those days) and chose to get off of them. My gyn told me that different bcps can cause different reactions in people, so if the side effects didn't die down or got worse over 3 months then they would put me on something else. How long has your friend been on them? Has she ever taken premarin before and has it ever bothered her? Just wanting to know. My best friend took premarin so she would start having regular periods, she can't take bcps (something about too many people in her family have a certain type of cancer and bcps make it worse). She also has hypothyroidism so she either goes 6 months w/o a period or she goes 6 months straight w/ a period. Her gyn told her she would be on premarin (horse urine) for at least 6 months and she ought to start having regular periods on her own. I am not sure I have answered your question or helped you at all, but I tried w/ my limited knowledge of the med. Since no one else was writing I thought I would.
