New Here, I've got Questions!From: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Feb 4 12:16:35 2000
I am new here. I already have PCOS. But my gyn and GP both think I might have endometriosis. I am 22 with no kids. I am in pain a majority of the time (like now). It's worse when I am supposed to ovulate or have a period, but I have it most of the time, it's just not to the same degree. I have lower abdominal pain from belly button down to pelivc bone and between my hips, but most of my pain seems to be centered on my left ovary, I had an ultrasound and nothing showed up there so he said I don't have cancer. This is really frustrating, my gyn said he'd do the surgery to find out if I have it, if the pain got bad enough, but he wanted to check all my bowel things first to make sure it's not that. I also have very heavy, painful periods (cramps and low back pain). I have missed 4 periods this past yr though (from the PCOS) and the pain started back in July 1999. I am having doubts on whether or not I should have the surgery because I looked at other reasons that you might have pelvic pain. One was something was wrong, but it went away, but you still have the pain. Another was that victims of sexual abuse sometimes have pain there psychologically. So I am not sure what to do. Also does anyone here ever have real sharp vaginal pain up the wall of the vagina sometimes? I didn't know if that was a normal women problem or not. Could someone explain? Amy
