Hi Angels, I hope everyone is having a good evening. Most of you know that my son had hip surgery in Oct. and was in casts for 7 weeks. Well, he has been doing good, going to his therapy and everything. Well, we thought that in a week or so that he would start back to school instead of having home based schooling. Of course we thought wrong. He was riding in the van last sunday and his seat belt slid down his legs and when the van stopped at a red light it caught him off guard and hell fell forward out of his seat landing on his knees. With his cerebral palsey he doesn't have the reflex to put his hands down to catch himself or anything like that. Well anyways, i was checking his legs over good and his hip seemed fine and there was no bruising and swelling so i figured the only reason he kept complaining about his legs hurting was because maybe he twisted his knees or something. We tried to get him into the doctor on monday but she was out of the office so we had to take him in on tuesday morning. So monday night i was looking at his knees again and found that the whole back of his right knee was a massive bruise and i mean one that was almost black. If i had seen that on sunday he would have been in the ER that night. Well, anyways we went into the doc on tuesday and she did x-rays and low and behold my son is now back in casts, both legs, because he has compression fratures of both femurs just above his knees. The doctor said his legs broke so easily because he doesn't walk so he has lost bone mass. He is in a red cast and a purple one (he chose the colors...lol) and taking vocoden for the pain and is loading up on multivitamines and calcium to help with the healing and to also keeps his bones from breaking when he transfers from his wheel chair to other things. Sorry this is so dragged out but wanted to let you all know what is going on. Oh yeah, also for the last two days on top of dealing with my son in pain and crying alot I have been having alot of pain along my c-section scar. Am sure it is adhesions again. Oh well, can't do much about it right now so i take the pain meds and go on with my life for now. Take care all and pain free wishes.
