Gwenn, Its a diet developed by Dr. Barry Sears, where you balance the ratio of carbohydrates, proteins and fats in your meals. He breaks portions down and you figure out by formula of lean muscle mass, etc. how many portions you are supposed to eat in a meal and how many throughout the day. Its usually divided between three meals and two snacks a day. Its supposed to be a really good diet for diabetics. Check your library for the books if your interested. If you want his website address, let me know, I have it at work and can send it on monday. Wishing you wings for your hopes and dreams, Lila in Milwaukee, WI
