Re: Pain clinicFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netFri Jan 14 20:33:17 2000
Hi, I have a wonderful pain doc. I had to get copies of all my records (I practically needed a back hoe to get them all there!!)At the first visit he talked to me for about an hour. We discussed what option I wanted to try. At that time I was on Ultram and was happy with it so he continued my script with that. I started seeing a pain psychologist (at my request) and then had a procedure where he destroyed my pelvic nerves by injection. I could have had a lap and had it done, but he said this works just as well. I also started Physical therapy which I really like. About 5 months ago, I was switched to time release meds. The Ultram was working but I was having to take more and more, and no one knows the long term effects of it. First I tried Oxycontin and had bad side effects and then I was put on MS Contin.(morphine) The meds help a lot and are safer to take as they have no aspirin or acephetamine. I go once a month to see him and have my meds refilled. But I currently go to physical therapy 3 times a week and see my pain shrink once a week. So far my insurance has covered all this except my 10.00 office visit fee. If you have any questions please let me know. Good luck and have a great night, Stacey
