Hi all! I had my appointment with the second opinion doctor yesterday. She seemed to be very nice. She's really not an advocate of hysterectomies. She asked me some questions, looked at my chart and I told her about the pain and bleeding and she said that sometimes there could be other reasons for the pain and bleeding--of course, not ruling out the endometriosis but there could be additional causes. She looked at my past ultrasound reports again and she strongly suspected that I might have a fibroid. I have forgotten that in my first ultrasound reports there was something said about a growth within the body of the uterus that most likely was a fibroid. But I had a polyp removed during my laparoscopy and I thought that was it, but I guess it wasnt. So I go for a pelvicultrasound Tuesday. If it turns out that I do have a fibroid, she recommended a procedure called uterine artery embolization. Have any of you heard of that procedure? What I didnt particularly care for about her is that she recommended that I be put back on medication to control the pain. She asked me about the medications that I was on and which ones worked best for pain. I told her the lupron greatly minimized the pain. She recommended that I be on it for another six months but with a calcium supplement so my bones wont get brittle. But I was already on lupron for 6 months and I really didnt want to be on it anymore. I gained a lot of weight from it. She wasnt too much for laser surgery to remove the endometriosis because it would be like major surgery. Shes more like pro-medicine but the more I think about it, I think the laser surgery route is the route I want to go. I really don't want to be bothered with any more medication. I'll wait to see what the ultrasound turns up and then I guess I'll go from there. She also recommended some additional tests like getting a pelvic MRI and possibly going to an urologist for some tests. Bye for now! DDBernadette
