Re: Surgery this friday-somewhat long,Jen CoxFrom: JANET (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Jan 31 16:19:53 2000
Jen, (cox) Hi.. I hope you mean that, when you say any suggestions welcome.. You might want to bring a pair of pajama pants, your own brush, make sure you shave before you go in, cause you won't feel like you can do it, for maybe a week. Minimal makeup, hair things, like clips, or headbands, or holders.. Big comfy undies, no ob undies, unless you don't mind the feeling of the mesh making you itch. (only to some people) when you go home, you'll want to stay on the couch for a week or so, propped up by pillows, that way you won't get the gas thats pumped in you into your shoulders, and use your arms, for everything, that way you don't use your tummy muscles. You'll be tempted, cause it's natural to use the tummy muscles, but make sure you pay attention so you don't.. When your in the pre op, you may want to ask for reglan to settle your tummy, instead of the stuff they make you drink before you go in.. Oops!!! I just looked at the date again on your message, and i'm late in writing this.. I hope your surgery went well, and if there's anything you need, please feel free to ask, about anything.... Get well soon!!!!!
