Clear DayLori I can not believe that the police did that, I always thought that when a death was involved w/ an accident that they had to do testing on both parties. I can understand his parents being upset by the police's actions, I would be too. Are they going to persue anything? Ken, Meagan and I went out to brunch with Tim and Pam and the rest of the family today...we went to the resturant that donated the food and their place for the funeral. very yummy food and we are hoping to help generate some business for this very kind person....Pam was holding up....so was Josh's Twin...They are a strong family and will some how make it. They all did something I found absolutely incredible. Ok are you ready for this....Tatoos! All 5 kids (the youngest is 16) and dad...Pam will be getting one this week. Some might think it strange but I really thought it was a wonderful thing to do...As you might have guessed there is much more to this story then I have written. It is so complex. Josh was a very good kid....he was not a drunk or on drugs.Into sports, kind to everyone and had a wonderful personality. Pam told me the registry book had over 1000 signatures in it...unreal isn't it. The resturant had 450 people come through it's doors the day of the funeral. WOW! So as you can see this was no ordinary young man. He is a great example for all really. Now If you feel like it I will tell you a bit about what happened. Josh and Jeremy, His twin, were on their way home from the girls basketball game. It was abotu 9 pm. They were on a country road just one mile from home (actually grandma and grandpa's house they were house sitting that week while they were away). It's a road they know very well. It was however full of snow and slush. We know how much country roads are neglected in the winter. They were coming over the hill when Josh noticed a van coming in the other direction in the middle of the road....he swerved to the right to avoid the van and lost control because of the snow...spun around 2 times and was hit by the van. Josh was killed instantly by the impact of the crash.&nb sp; It cause a hole in his heart creating internal bleeding. We were told he did not suffer. Before the body could be released they had to do drug and alcohol testing. There was NONE in his system. The driver of the van was never tested....the driver of the van spent only 20 minutes at the accident scene and went home. He has never called the family. It's not that he is blamed for what happened there are just some questions as to what the heck the police did to investigate. They went completely on the word of the driver of the van and have not questioned Jeremy at all and do not plan to. My friends just want answers. The Police told them that it's closed and they did not feel it necessary to test the driver of the van for alcohol or drugs. Hello people wouldn't you at least want to cover your own butts on this. So things were done sloppily and people are not happy. There is more to this but to much to go on. I did want to tell you something that came as a shock to everyone....Josh had been struggling with health problems these past 2 years...had test after test and found that his calcium was not processing through his body correctly....well they over looked something very important in their testing. Josh had advanced heart disease. The coroner told our friends that he may have had less than two weeks to live as it was. Very bizzare. No one had a clue. Thank you guys for listening to me ramble; This is all so hard to deal with for me and I can not even imagine what my friends are going through. There is so many other Good things I want to share with you all on this but will wait a while. Love and big smurfy hugs to you all....Lori Happiness is a journey, not a destination.
