Hello Ladies!From: anonymous@obgyn.netSat Jan 29 18:14:59 2000
Hi everyone, I have not posted a message here in quite some time. I hope you are all doing well. I think my seemingly endless search for a dr knowledgeable about endo has finally been fruitful. But for some reason there is a little nagging doubt that I like him only because he says what I want to hear. Namely that my pain is real and has a reason that can be fixed. I went to see him for the first time on Thursday. He took me into his office and looked at the pictures from my lap in '98. The first thing he said was wow, you have quite a mess there. He pointed to all the scaring on my rectum were my left ovary had been stuck to it and said that this was most likely the source of my problem. This is something that I have suppected for some time but no other dr would acknowledge it. He told me that he thinks I may need to have that section of the rectum removed in order to fix it. And that this is a very serious surgery with a long and painful recovery. We then went into the other room for the exam. I did not have to endure the usual poking around and "does this hurt...does this hurt". He seemed to know right were the sore spots would be from what he saw in the pictures. Although it was, by far, the most painful exam I ever had, he really seemed to know what he was doing and what he was looking for. I am just not sure if I should see this guy as a God send or too good to be true. I could really use some input from you ladies. What do you think? Also, I would like to hear from those ladies who have had bowel sugery. Is it really that bad? Thanks for listening to my rambling. I am having a hard time deciding what to do here. It really helps to have this place where I can come and talk. Thank you for being here. Elaine (NY)
