I am 27 and still breastfeeding my 15 months old son. As this point, I am producing a lot less milk because he is weaning himself. I noticed that when I squeeze my left breast, a lump appears right near the nipple on the areola. It's been there for many months. It's not firm and sometimes, it seems easier to feel than other times. My OB sent me for an ultrasound. The radiologist and the technician did not find anything. The radiologist even did a clinical exam to be sure. He said that I have a prominent milk duct. He looks at the entire breast on the sonogram for at least 10min. he said that this was definetly not a tumor. My OB told me to keep an eye on it and that this could change. She scarred the hell out of me. Should I be concerned? I went for my annual OB check up 4 months ago and everything was normal breast wise. Is this common in lactating women? Why would one duct be larger then the others? I am so afraid of breast cancer. I don't have a history of this illness in my family. Does anyone have any info? Thank you, Leila
