I hope you can help. I have fibrocystic breasts. My left breast has had non-cyclical pain for many years in one area, also a slight feeling of warmth. My mother had breast cancer early and died so I am always worried. My last yearly mammo showed a calcification cluster and a nodular density in the left breast. I had a magnification mammo peformed on both of these areas. The radiologists report stated they were present on past mammos and "have not changed detectably in the interval" and "there are no discrete masses". Recommended short term follow up of one year for "probably benign findings". I was relieved at first but now I am worried again. I have anxiety with my health and I have a problem believing everything is ok without having a sonogram or biopsy. My primary doctor did not explain any of the findings to me and I was confused and scared. I went to the clinic and got my written results from a nurse and had her explain. My mind is still not at ease. Can you offer any help? Should I seek further testing on my own, and is this possible without a doctor referal? Please help. Thank you , Jennifer
