I sustained an injury to the soft tissue of my breast (fell against the tip of tree branch I was prunning).Visibly I had a small round bruise no bigger than a pea. Now 3 weeks later I have what seems to me a huge ( 3cmx2cm ) two toned brown area with an irregularly shaped lumpe beneath about the size of a grape. I feel no pain associated with it.
I was seen by my family Dr who prescribed a weeks worth of very strong antibiotics but suggested if it worsens (gets bigger) pver the next 24 hours I will have to be referred to the local Hospital Breast Clinic..
She was not able to spend any further time discussing what might happen. Are you able to suggest what might happen if this does not get cured by the antibiotics and explain how a bruise turns into an infection?
Many thanks, Lizzy
