From: pro-fit00 To: Multiple recipients of list BREAST-HEALTH Sent: Wednesday, July 23, 2003 5:21 PM Subject: birads 4 rating Dear Leslie Bi-Rads IV need to do a biopsy A cluster of microcalcifications with Bi - Rads rating IV ,if the result of biopsy is positive, is linked probably with a lesion " In Situ" or Invasive, but it is an " Initial Lesion" with conservative surgery and a very good prognostic Best regards DibHi a little background: had a routine mammo in 1/03 with a call back for an ultrasound which showed a microcalcification and was instructed to come back for a f/u in 6 months.... went last week and the radiologist noticed a cluster of microcalcifiactions in the same area and recommonded a stereotactic biopsy (scheduled for tomorrow) - my report mentioned dense breasts and a birads rating of 4 - what is the probable result of my upcoming biopsy and if it is diagnosed as malignant, what can I expect in the way of treatment - I am a 43 year old with no breast cancer in the family. thanks Leslie Bates
