armpit lump

I just noticed today I have lump in the middle of my armpit. It's very hard like a cherry pit. I'm getting my period this week and wonder if I should just wait it out and see if it goes away. I've never had this happen so I'm just kind of concerned a bit. Any advice would be great!!
