3 questions about my breasts/health

Hi,

I am 27 and my son just turned 1 today. I am still breastfeeding him. He still wakes up at night ( 1 to 2 times) and I still don't have my period back. I have 3 questions:

1) From the start, he preferred the left breast. Therefore, the left breast is now 2 times as big as the right one. Before becoming pregnant, the left breast was slightly bigger. I alternate during the feedings and the small one produces quite a bit of milk as well, but still...Once I finish breastfeeding, will my 2 breasts go back to their initial size ( if not, would the current size difference diminish a bit?).

2) second question, since I am still breastfeeding this child 7 times in 24h and since I still did not get my period, can breastfeeding still help even a little bit to protect me from another pregnancy ( not that I am counting on this but just want to know out of curiosity).

3) I know that one should go for the annual exmans and that I should examine my breast every month but is it true that prolonged breastfeeding can help to reduce the risk of breast cancer?

Thank you, Leila
