Burning feeling in both breasts and under arm pits

Hello, I am a 46 year old woman with a history of fibrocystic breast disease. I was diagnosed with this condition when I was in my 30's. What brought me to my OBGYN was a burning in both breasts. My doctor found cysts in both breasts and my mamogram showed no malignancy. I was put on a course of Cytomel (A thyroid drug) and also some vitamin E. I was told to cut back on my caffeine intake so I did. After awhile I discontinued the Cytomel because of the side effects. My breasts were doing much better by this time. I have been consuming alot of caffeine lately and this month my breasts started to burn inside. By the time my period approached the pain was getting worse. The pain is in both breasts and also in the armpits. One of my armpits feels like it has a pinch in it. One armpit looks puffier or like it has more fat on it. I have also been having trouble sleeping. I go to bed at 11:00 or 12:00 p.m. and I wake up around 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning and can't go back to sleep. My pajama top is also drenched in sweat. This has happened the last three nights. Could the burning breast pain be related to the fibrocystic breasts, hormone changes or infection? Could I be entering Peri-menopause or menopause? I'm feeling pretty crummy. Thanks for you reply. Mary
