Your question is a good one, and has not, to my knowledge, been answered by specific studies. It is known that breast cancer risk can be increased by prolonged exposure to estrogens, but even this is difficult to tease out and many variables come into play when evaluating the effects of estrogens on development of breast cancer. The CNN story is a good example of reporting controversial topics to increase viewership. The relationship between breast cancer and abortion is sketchy and there is minimal evidence of a minimally increased risk. Watch something else. Hannah Brooks, MD, FACS
