Lump in armpit and numbness in arm

Well this problem first started almost a year ago when I became pregnant with my 2nd child. I noticed a lump under my left armpit that was some what sore- not painful, just sore. I had an appointment scheduled with a cancer specialist. At this time I did not have any medical insurance so my doctor's visit was funded by a breast cancer organization here in town. The Dr. did a breast exam-and it took him awhile to find the lump. At that time he told me that it was probably just a swollen lymph node caused by infection or possibly even caused by a scratch from my cat. He told me to come back if it persisted after a couple mos. I miscarried at about 3 mos and the lump went away. Since then the sore lump has come and gone several times. This time the lump is back and VERY sore. Now for the last 2 days I am feeling a dull aching in my left arm, and occasional numbness. I have searched the web and haven't found anyone with all of these symptoms. The lump has not enlarged any more than it has in the past, it has merely swollen to the same size (that of a small grape)and then subsided. Also if I cough or sneeze I feel pain at the area of the lump. I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this. I have an appt approx 2 weeks from now for something altogether different, but intend to bring up this issue while I am there. Any ideas of what this could be or mean would help my anxieties greatly!! Thanks! Alisha
