Dear Bettie- If the lump and blood and pus are still draining, you need to see a doctor. If the nipple was damages and bacteria entered the ducts, it may be necessary to completely drain the infection and get treated with antibiotics. The infection could get worse and be more damaging to surrounding tissue if it is not addressed. Don't let your embarrassment prevent you from seeking proper care. You don't want to have permanent damage from an accident like this. Hannah Brooks, MD, FACSSubject: blister-type lump on nipple Date: 04/18/2003 09:01pm
my boyfriend and i got a little too rough, and i think he bit my nipple too hard and now there's a lump on the dark area around my right nipple. it looks sort of like a blood blister and i tried poking it with a needle and blood and a puss-like discharge came out. but it doesn't seem to be going away. i'm really self-conscious about it and really don't want to have to take this to a doctor, or let my boyfriend see it. could you please explain this and if it is just temporary? can i get rid of it? please help me.
