I have a nine month old baby whom I have nursed since birth. I had the usual sore, dry, cracked nipples in the beginning, but haven't had any problems up until about this week. I noticed a blister-like sore on my nipple. I assumed it was from nursing, but am worried as it is oozing small amounts of blood and puss. I have been wearing breast shields at night because it hurts. Is this related to nursing or could it be something worse? Also, will it hurt my baby to nurse on this breast due to the blood and puss? Please respond. Thanks.
