Hello! I am 30 years old adn have no familial history of breast cancer. I have been having breast tenderness for a couple of months now. My doctor thought it was a cyst, so I was sent to get a mammogram and ultrasound. After magnification views they said my breast tissue was very dense but could see two faint calcifications that are probably benign. They have a tubular configuration with peripheral-rim type calcification. Ultrasound showed no cystic or solid mass. I was given a bi-rad category 3 rating. My question to you is what are the syptoms or signs of these calcifications?? I still have the breast tenderness. My Doctor wants me to get a mammogram in 3 months instead of 6 months. Does this tenderness override that mammogram or alert me that something is still wrong?? Should I be concerned?? Also does starting the birth control pill affect these calcifications or cause any problems in the future?? Thank you!!!
