-Dear Deborah- Difficult to say without much more detailed information. check with a dermatologist to see if there is a chronic yeast or other infection of the skin of the nipple. If it persists with treatment, have it checked more carefully by a breast specialist. Hannah Brooks, MD,FACS

My right breast has been itching for 9 months. It is usually all the time with short breaks of relief. The area is located on the inside of the right nipple, about the size of a silver dollar. The area never changes in location or size. I thought originally it might be a infected milk duct, but it doesn't go away. There seems to be no visible skin irritation except for marks from night scratching. I had a clear mammogram 2 years ago. If you have any idea of what this might be, I'd appreciate the help.
