Dear Michelle- A nodule at your age is very likely to be a fibroadenoma. It is a benign (noncancerous) lump. If the surgeon recommends surgery because it has grown in size, then you can do this without worry. The surgery to remove a small lump is very simple and is considered minor surgery. Good luck. I'm 23 years old girl from Malaysia, i went for breast ultrosound last September, and the breasy surgeon told me probably it was a fibroadenoma, but she is not sure about it, she told me it is like a very small pea, she wanted me to wait for another 3 months to check it again. I found out something like a nodule near my nipple one day before i went for ultrasound, i don't know the nodule was really exist there when i was small or not. The surgeon advised me to do a small surgery to remove it, she asked me to wait for other few months, if it grows bigger, it is more easy for her to do the surgery. Now the nodule is very small, and it is located very near to nipple. I'm so scared and i don't know whether i should remove it or not, please advise me on this
