Dr. Brooks, Thank you for responding to my question. To answer a few of you questions, in March they put me on clindimycin 300 mg tid, it didn't work. Then surgery. They found that the puss was bacteria and that was that. The MRI was ordered by a resident at the ER. Blood test showed no infection, if the infection is in the tissue and not the blood steam then the blood work wouldn't show an infection would it? The lump came back in Sept. 6 months later. Now the surgeon wants to do surgery again, and I am not sure what he is going to do (clean out the infection or remove the tissue, he was really busy that day) but he wants to talk to a plastic surgeon first. I need a second opinion but really don't know who to call. He still didn't order a sonogram. I have an inverted nipple on this breast but the surgeon doesn't seem to think that is the point of entry for the bacteria. The lump got so big it had pulled the incision apart and started to drain, so I cut the incision last weekend and drained it myself. The puss was greenish yellow and drained for 2 days. Now the incision is sealed again and the lump is still deep in there. Please let me know what other kind of doctor to look for. Thank you for your time. Hope to hear from you soon. "crazy"
