Dear Trish- Unfortunately, I cannot tell you if something is "really wrong" or not. I recommend that you research some of the local hospitals in your area, as many of them have low-cost clinics where you can be evaluated--even if you do not have insurance. If there is a family history of breast cancer, you can also obtain free assistance through the American Cancer Society (1800-ACS-2345). I am 22 years old and in good health. I was doing a self-breast exam this morning and discovered a sore spot on the left side of my left breast. It's not extremely painful, just a bit sore - much like a bruise - and there's no lump there. My left arm has been falling asleep rather often lately, as well. I realize I'm probably over-reacting, and so I don't want to go to a doctor (insurance problems) unless something is really wrong. Any thoughts?
