new breast changes with period

For about a week before my last period my breast and nipple were itchy. A day before the onset of my period I noticed a cyst type bump located directly behind my nipple. This bump grew larger over the next 24 hours and was tender but not painful. The bump decreased in size each day of my period, but has not completly disappeared yet. The last day of my period was two days ago. Should I be worried? Can anyone tell me what caused this?
