Dear Vera-I do not have much experience in this area per se; however, I think you would find the information, or at least find out where to go, by contacting bra manufacturers in the U.S. The companies may or may not want to provide proprietary information regarding their desgins, etc. but may at least help you get started. It may also be helpful to research the history books on lingerie design.

"Haagse Hogeschool" University of Professional Education Human Kinetic Technology, Dep. Research & Development Faculty of Healthcare, Behavioural and Social Sciences
Helen Alink and myself, Vera Sleutels, are two students from Holland. We study Human Kinetic Technology in The Hague and we are doing research on the effect of wearing a bra day in day out on the functioning of the joints of the upper extremities, the shoulder girdle in particular. In order to accomplish this research we are looking for information concerning this subject.
- shoulder pains or dysfunction possibly caused by wearing a bra - former research on the subject - which aspect are taken into account when designing a bra - how does continuous strain on top of the m. trapezius and the clavicula effect the biomechanics of the joints involved.
The reason for doing this research is to be able to state facts about the effect of wearing a bra in order to (if necessary) change the concept of the design of the bra.
I hope you can help us find information on the subject or put us in contact with someone who might help us to proceed in our project.
sincerely yours,
Vera Sleutels email: 96006471@sggm.hhs.nl
