Dear Susan-

Do not delay in seeing your doctor. If this lump is not cancerous, you will be greatly relieved. If it is, there is no better way to take care of yourself than to take action as quickly as possible. Even if you have neglected the mass for a year, there is still a chance that it is localized to the breast and has not yet spread. And there are so many treatment options available. You may find that your fears are based on many misconceptions about how breast cancer is treated in 2001. Please contact me if you need help in finding the right doctors in your area. I'm 53 have large very hard lump in breast for l year. Too scared to go to dr. I need to hear some hope that I haven't waited too late. Has anyone else ever waited this long. Is chemo safe and am I too old to go through it. Can anything be done if it has spread. Thanks.
