Untimely Breast Growth

Dear Doctor, I have searched the forum on the website after doing a search for breast health. I did not find an answer to my concern. I will pose my question and then give you a little background information so that you may be better able to answer my question. My question: Over the last several (about 5 months) I have noticed that my breasts have enlarged and become considerably more firm than in the past. I am wondering what could cause this. I am 29 1/2 years old, I have given birth to one child, my only pregnancy, that was 7 years ago, I did breastfeed for about 5 months. Before I became pregnant my breasts were a 34A cup, during the time I was nursing they were a 34DD, after I quit nursing they returned to a smaller size, barely a 34A. My breasts remained looking "parched", the nipples looked "drawn" and appeared to have scar tissue around the nipple. I assumed this was from nursing a baby. However now 7 years after having a child and at 29 1/2 years old my breasts appear to be "growing" again. The "parched", "drawn" appearance is gone, they have gone from barely an A cup to a full B in just under 5 months. I have not changed anything in my diet, am taking no medication, over the counter or prescription, I do take birth control, but have been for years. I haven't noticed any unusual lumps, but my breasts are extremely painful, even when pushed on gently, I have a small kitten and even when she walks across my breasts, I am in pain. Can you provide any explanation for this un-timely breast growth and pain? Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. Miss Ashby
