Mrs Christina,

You have high risk to breast cancer

Instead of getting a mammogram every year, is it a good idea to alternate a breast > ultra-sound and a mammogram, for fear of too much radiation?

No.Mammogram is much better than USG Ultra-sound only complement a mammogran, some times. To prevent an invasive breast cancer ( to do diagnosis of In Situ breast cancer )or to do early diagnosis of breast cancer the examination is Mammography.

Also, do > you have any other information that could be of great help to me? Thank

" imaginis.com" and " nih.gov " are indeed very good home pages :

I would like to say the following : If you do self-examination of your breast, a examination with your doctor every six months, and a mammography every year, you will detect a POSSIBLE breast cancer in early stage, and you will not die of breast cancer !!!

Important thing to say about genetic testing ( brca1): even positive this fact do not means that you will have a breast cancer, than, why to do it? To increase your anxiety?
