Dear Dr Singh- Certainly, breast hypoplasia may signal an underlying hormonal problem. From your description, however, this woman may simply have small or underdeveloped breasts as her natural state. She may have had minimal breast buds from birth with minimal glandular tissue. A pregnancy may lead to breast enlargement if and when she becomes pregnant. If all else is normal, have her discuss options with a surgeon specializing in breast issues--and see if she wants the option of augmentation by a plastic surgeon if she is very uncomfortable with her current appearance. A girl of age 22 yrs, reported to me with c/o underdevelopment of both breast. She started having her menstruation at the age of 14 which occurs at regular interval with normal flow. Her secondary sexual characters are well developed. She does not seem to have other problem except for the breast hypoplasia. What could be the reason of her problem and how do you think it should be treated.
