Hi. I am 37 yrs. old and just days ago had my first mammogram. Paternal >aunt w/breast cancer at 70, maternal grandmother, 83, had 2 non-cancerous
>lumpectomies. My two sisters have fibro-cystic breasts, as do I.
>Technician found pea-sized lump in left breast just above and to the left of
>my aereola, another solid mass nearby, and a suspicious looking mass in same
>gen. location. These 2 other masses were detected on ultrasound. I was
>told by 2 radiologists and tech, that 2 masses seem likely to be cysts, and
>the suspicious lump possibly a fibro-adenoma. A few key terms were used in
>reference to my breasts- "fibro-glandular", and "architectural distortion"
>of the breast. I am absolutely terrified as my husband had a major health
>scare last year, and we are deep in the process of adopting a baby. (I have
>never conceived a child-husband is sterile) My appt. w/surgeon is in 2 days
>and I cannot stop ruminating over this. I would appreciate some feed-back.
>Thanks.
