medroxyprogesterone reaction

My ob-gyn put my on medroxyprogesterone because my mensus was every 2 weeks and very heavy. After just one dosage of medroxyprogesterone my mensus was still just 2 weeks but very light...however, my breast nipple are so sore, I can hardly stand a bra on. Could this be a reaction and should I continue? I don't know which I can stand worst, the mensus every 2 weeks or the painful nipples.
