Recurrent Breast Cancer

My 78-year-old grandmother just learned that her breast cancer has returned - she has an approximately 3 centimeter 'spot' on her spine and another 'spot' on her lung.....not yet sure if the lung spot is recurrent breast cancer or a new cancer. She had a breast removed 9 years ago. As you might imagine, this recurrence is absolutely devastating.

I am gathering information from lots of different sources - various doctors and consultations, reading, etc. - and am hoping someone here can offer some thoughts ......ANY thoughts.....regarding treatment options, prognosis, etc. .......ANY input will be greatly appreciated. I would especially appreciate any suggestions as to what questions I should ask the doctors. I already have a long list of questions, but I want to make sure I'm asking the RIGHT questions.

Thank you.
