Dear Meg-Is is entirely possible that the mass is simply a fatty tumor called a lipoma--but you have not provided the pathology report here. In any case, if it is still present and worrying you, it is best to remove the entire thing..if only to avoid having it grow larger. It is also OK, if benign, to leave it be. You may want to get a copy of the slides for a second opinion on the tissue by another pathologist-- perhaps at a larger medical center. Hannah Brooks,MD,FACS

I had a biopsy this week for a mass in my rt breast. It was nothing more than a collection of fat build up. THe surgeons nurse called to say that it was benign but that it may continue to grow. They left the descion to remove or not remove to me. I have no idea what to do with it. Is there any reason to remove it if its not causing me any problems and its benign?
Thanks
-- Meg
