It depends on what type both pills are. If they're both combination pills like Ortho Cyclen and Yasmin, I think you're safe if you didn't miss any days between packs. Look at the patient information insert that comes with your pills from the pharmacy. It has a section about what to do when you switch to your pills from another type of pill (either combination or progestin only) or when you switch from DepoProvera or from implants. That section will tell you exactly what to do for your specific prescription.
