[Birth Control] Orthotrycyclen as backup

I went off the pill 5 months ago. I had sex (condom broke) on the 3rd day of my period. That night I took 2 leftover orthotryclen pills from one of my packs (not expired) from the 3rd week of pills. My period was prolonged for 5 days but was light. On Sept. 17, i should have gotten my period but rather experienced a light pinkish brown discharge that lasted 3-4 days but now is gone. I never got my period. Any ideas what may be going on? Could I have messed up my cycle?
