I have had two injections of Depo-Provera, starting in April. Since then I have been spotting non-stop. I am aware that if I stick with the shot, the bleeding will most likely stop, but I have another problem too. After my boyfriend has ejaculated and the sex is over, the ejaculate falls out of me. I assume that it happens because the shot thickens my cervical mucus, but I find it uncomfortable and bothersome. My questions are: Is this normal? Do other birth control methods cause the same side effect? I am due for another shot in October but I want to switch to the birth control patch. How soon can I start the patch? Do I have to wait for a normal period, which could take as long as a year?
