[Birth Control] im so confused! please help!

I have been on the birth control patch (ortho evra) for about 3 months now. During this time i have gained about 15 pounds and the weight gain still has not stopped. Before I started the bc i had been continuously losing weight so the weight gain has been very upsetting. The ortho evra has also caused symptoms very similar to pms. I have become very moody, depressed, and emotional and these side effects are affecting my personal life greatly. I am now considering either going of birth control for a few months to get my system back to normal before returning to a different form of birth control or just switching immediately. Which would be better for my body? I am also wondering if there are any other birth control pills or shots that you would recommend which would help reduce or eliminate the weight gain and that would help eliminate my feeling of pms because i cant take it anymore!!
