[Birth Control] contraceptive shots

Been married for 2 years and trying to get pregnant for my husband. I am 40 and he is 42. Have 3 children from previous marriage (ages 18, 16 & 13) My husband and I are in Good health and exercise regularly. Been on shots for 5 years straight and off for 3 1/2 years. Took pills prescribed by doctor and local bush medicine for clean out which I thought would help increase chances of pregnancy and still nothing has happened.

Do you think the shots had anything to do with decreasing my chances of getting pregnant? I know I have been overly anxious and getting frustrated, so maybe I should relax more.

Appreciate any response at this time.

Sincerely
